Sounds a bit suss, after reading up on Jan Elwoth's website (Swedish Volvo tuner) more reasonable output from a chip/ecu is around 265bhp. I took an interest in his site when I bought what was advertised as a WothRline ecu on fleabay for £65 - after sending pics to him he confirmed it was one of his and should give 265hp and 400Nm on standard setup in a non-aggressive way. I've got a cat-back as well but no idea what figures it's throwing out - tbh not bothered, all I know is it's got a bit more oomph lol.
Interesting to see what one of these chips produces and in what way.

well I just saved about £80 on three new tires from a mechanic mate who was scrapping mot failure with 3 brand new tires on it so I`ll risk it and get one, once my t5 has got its mot. I`ll get a boost gage fitted at the same time any recombination's on fitting a boost gauge.

This is faintly rediculous. For £50 or whatever plus £45 for a spin up on a rolling road, we could prove or disprove the Ebay chippy vs. the HLM thing once and for all and save us all a load of time and munny,

If there are 50 of us reading this say we are paid £8 /hour at work and say our leisure time is only worth the same (??) thats £400 per hour - about £6 per minute that we waste pondering these non-life changing challenges.

one chip , one rolling road, one answer, one refund...
We could answer the exam questin once and for all, pos the result on Utibe and if the ebay ads are scams they are exposed. Job done.

Or am i being shallow and stupid?

I've got one and i have plugged it into laptop and it shows everything the same as a rica 304 I run on this map from eBay and I haven't had any problems with it wot so ever and I'm running my boost off the white into black on standard gauge she loves it. My opinion is its a rica with no sticker and a lot lot cheaper

This is the information we want, true life experience. I had a feeling it was just another Rica clone.

£49.00 sounds cheap but it's costly in the long run!!
I only ever drove 1 car with a map like that, it was done by SW autos and i have to say it was awful to drive, that also blew its engine apart within 2 months!

I would expect the software to be Rica or another popular brand that has been copied and perhaps edited to attempt to avoid copyright and the seller is a close member of within the Volvo community.

There's somebody selling a RICA'd 304 ecu over on the 'other' forum for £130 ono.

May be an option & you get keep your original ecu.
