They say having turbo stall puts strain on the turbo, but ive known cars to be fine with them just blocked off for thousands of miles with no troubles, however the stall isnt such a great thing, i can feel the turbo having to spool up again.
I am looking at fitting a dump valve once the plates sorted.
You can get dump valves that dont make so much noise but keep you spooled up.

Its the air blowing back out past the turbo that makes the noise in this instance, but yeah does sound sweet

I agree there frankie, the recirculation valve was there to stop the stall.... i can feel the car doesnt really like it, however im not going to bother fitting the valve until the plates right, its not really a big problem with the way i drive it.

you shouldn't feel any difference in spool time on the 15g or 16t, you might feel it with an 18 or 19t.

yes, nothing else removed only recirc valve..........use a 10mm ratchet spanner as access is a little tight................have a couple of spare bolts handy as its easy to drop them when refitting and as usual you can never find the one you drop

Tell me about it lost 2 twice! nightmare, ive got quite big hands and it was so fiddly. couldn't get any other bolts to catch a thread, so had to find the originals
Ive made a new one today with some 3mm better grade plate (bartered the local engineering shop for a big piece for 3 quid if anyone wants one)
and made a new gasket. its definitely going to be sorted now.
Driving it today with less boost was crap.
