That is it - she is going!

On the way back from the airport today after dropping a mate off and puff no power to the wheels.

Manages to get into a little layby - no reverse, no drive no nowt.

    She's going.

    Say goodbye to Tessa!

    Bloody thing.

I'm fairly sure it's the same thing as last time - certainly had the same symptoms. I checked and it *should* be under warrenty but you know how they try and swindle themselves out of that.

Either way I think it's time to say goodbye to her.... shame she had a hell of a lot of ££ spent on her almost the same amount again as I bought her for.

Genuinely gutted for you. Replacement or will it be cheaper to fix this one in the long run?

But agree with that comment, sometimes better the devil you know. Be a shame if you had to get rid of the car.

    Bloody thing.

Tessa is a Olive green 855 T-5R, RICA'd holding 1.2 Bar Boost with Brembo discs & Ferrodo DS2500 all around, ITG Green Filter, Strut Brace, Autogauge smoked boost gauge, drilled Airbox & Supply, wobbly-dave AT fluid cooler, recon 15G Turbo, Recon Gearbox, Magnecor KV85 Competition Lead Set with EST/MSD Coil Upgrade Kit, Tracker Recovery -> ~259bhp wheels, 354nM torque with 135k miles + Spare set of TITANS

NEVER been thrashed then??? hate to say it but what do you expect... standard g/box is bound to fail premature with that amount of mods.
why not fit another NEW g/box only this time drive it abit more gently....NO race days at the santa pod!!! Main dealer would never condone it, warranty would be out the window cos they aint built to withstand modding abuse. You know what i mean m8, save your money, Dont buy a fiesta...youll only regret it nor anything else beginning with FO..and ending RD.

PS I know what i would do!!!

Mate - She's never been raced , track or quarter of a mile, in her life. Standard auto box will happily deal with 300bhp (350bhp for manual). She's 240bhp as standard so the only *real* performance mod was the RICA. Everything else is primarily a replacement to original gear.

    UPDATE:
The gearbox problem wasn't as serious as I thought. Gearbox selector messed up is all. Nothing serious and is being fixed under warrenty. Should have her back this week if they have time to squeeze her in.

It's still sad when you see your car on the back of a tow truck though.

I'm unsure as to what I'm doing with her now. I guess I just expected the worst given I've had problems with her in the past. We all know T5Rs can be tempremental buggers at times. Volvo pushed the technology at the times close to the edge and then we go push it a bit more

I still like the idea of getting a V70R so I may just keep her until I find one that suits and then sell her to someone then.

Ermmmm - why does his sig mean that he thrashed the car? That car has been to Santa Pod ONCE and even then it just made an appearance in the car park.

"NEVER been thrashed then??? hate to say it but what do you expect..." this sentence in particular was rather rude seeing as you dont even know the car or the owner so cant possibly pass comment over whether its been thrashed or that Andrew deserved it to go tits up!!
