    Rattle can advice

My Comets have now been cleaned, de tarred, de iron contaminated, flatted and primed so will be applying a nice silver (Volvo silver from Halfords) tomorrow.

This is just a temporay clean up until I have the spare funds to pay £250 for a pucker powder coating, probably next year.

How many coats of the silver should I apply to give a reasonable robust result?

I am thinking 2 with perhaps a couple of clear on top?

When fully cured out, I will wax thoroughly to add some protection too.

I would generally use a can per wheel.

I used a 300ml can per wheel on mine too. And half a can of clear. as for number of coats? umm, between 4 and 6 I guess.

    seems a lot to me......

I'll see how it goes after the first couple of silver.

I dont get the rubber until friday evening so I doubt they will get shod until next week after the bank holiday as I shall want them to be well and truly cured/hardened.
