However , knowing alot of roads policing units they will also confirm many clutch and dmf replaced as low as 30,000 miles !!

Im pleased with my ex plod V70 T5 p2, the day will come for me , reaching 188,000 !!

    Good luck

So, the Big Sweed is back on the road and far better than ever. the clutch is now so light, I thought there was something wrong with it to start with. The bite point is right down, about an inch from the bottom (that's how it feels). It's so different that I nearly stalled a few times this evening.
here's some pics of the crispy fried clutch components...

The mechanic, Jason (Bless him, he cancelled his day off to finish the job) said that it looks like its been slipping a lot, hence the scortching. I wonder how much whp I've been losing through that fragged friction lining...
Any way, top marks to E.A.S. Garage services for going above and beyond the call of duty and not only getting my lovely car back on her feet (wheels), but honouring their original quote. Jason is a very skilled lad and did a top job. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
470 miles till I can play...
    Happy days

She's very different to drive, in a good way. I always thought the gearbox was worn because getting into 1st and reverse was often difficult and general shifting was always slow and clunky. Smooth as a cashmere sausage now
There's also less vibration at idle and pulling away is cleaner too.

Chuffed for you mate!! Such a good feeling when you get your car back and can phisically feel a big improvement. ALMOST justifies the £££!

I'm dreading the day my D5 clutch goes...only on 78k though so I think I've got a while to go!! (I hope!) still trying to decided if I should get it remapped or if that'll tempt clutch fate.
