That's the fella^^^^^ it may not apply to T5 but it is worth checking.

I knew nothing about it, until I was on the phone to Volvo ordering my bits to get mine done after the slave cylinder went pop...the parts guy said he strongly advised replacing it while it was open for the clutch and flywheel...so we did

    K U SMF was £408.

Missus talked me into getting a local indy to do it for the sake of a warranty.
They do all the stuff I don't wanna risk doing myself (so far the timing belt and MOTs)

Hi don't blame you as its a job that you really do need a lift to the job,and like you say you do have some come back on the fitting.
I would also flush the brake fluid to the new slave as this will be very dirty.
Don't forget that you will need some gearbox oil as well.also when there have a good look at cv boots.

Am I likely to lose some tranny fluid? I flush it every 10k due to the wear already apparant when shifting into 1st or reverse. Boots are all good too.
About the fluid in the slave, Is this likely to be dirty from the change or due to old fluid? I've flushed it twice in 15 months.

Hi they will/should drain the gearbox as it keeps it off the workshop floor.
The fluid to the old slave will be black just flush it thought before you get the new slave fitted so to keep the bits out .

I don't understand how the box would lose fluid when removed, it's sealed isn't it?

    Hi Martin,

Just a thought... for you S60R guys.

The S60R clutch fits in mine, the Focus RS clutch fits in mine.

Maybe the Focus RS clutch will fit in yours? It's got a higher clamping force and kits go for around £650 including slave and DMF.

Only thing its missing is the springs, which I believe are used to absorb shock when dumping the clutch on a 4wd ?
