A good few replies and as expected it's a 'Marmite' kinda thing, your either gonna like it or your not.

Obviously when you look at a pattern on the computer it's difficult to work out exactly how it's going to look on the car, it was something I wanted to try and I'm glad I have, at the end of the day it's only a set of plastics and if ever I feel the need to change them I can do so with minimal outlay.

But for now, as they are obviously getting to a few of you, they are staying

It does look good graham. As you say they're only plastics but its very individual.
Brings the engine bay to life and highlights how clean it all is.

Oh and steering wheel looks a cracking job but didnt want to comment before as I remember one of the last posts regarding one.lol

Bloody hell, that's knocked me for 6!

Ok, I'm not keen, seems like some sort of thing found on a Skyline or similar (says the lad with a stickerbombed Volvo!) but heck it's one hell of a statement! Think, with this you're ALWAYS going to get a reaction when you open the bonnet now, if you went for carbon or something people would barely bat an eyelid...

Not sure why you'd want it to look like something heavy like a marble worktop or worse a headstone. Not my cup of tea but if you like it then fair play.

    I applaud the individuality mind.

In that case he should have got it done before he took to the strip, it would have explained his slow times.

Yeah that's certainly different, not to my taste BUT they will be easy to maintain and will always look good. Have you put wax on them?

Looks like a granite kitchen work top..!! If that was the look you are going for then you've succeeded... After all IKEA is Swedish.

It reminds me of the modified Japanese cars..

If you like it, then that's all that matters mate! The quality looks superb, i'd like to see it in the flesh.

I wonder how long lasting it will be?

Well what can I say, the quality looks top notch and that quality echoes throughout the car so from a quality point of view it complements your time effort and and MRP's efforts too
As for the colour and style I don't personally think it's in keeping with the rest of the car and the image that the overall car has but it's your car and you like them so does anything I say really matter? No of course not, your happy and that's all that counts, oh and the Hydrographic trims are easy to maintain so will make keeping the engine bay looking fresh easier than before

Time for an update me thinks.

Took the car to work this morning and on the way home I took a detour to my local friendly MOT garage.....

I needn't have worried, no problems bar some slight play in a n/s anti-roll bar ball joint, something for after our holidays.

All sorted for another year !
