    "Just a T"

Thanks Haizum lol. Better than it being "just a 1.6 auto" I guess lol

I've done 10k in my V40, its a 00 phase 1.5 so you've got 3 years worth of improvements over mine, but haven't had a problem yet :-)
Do V40 have any common problems? Apart from hearing about the CEM's and VVT pulleys (more wear and tear rather than bad manufacturing) I don't think there is anything. Good regular servicing and general maintenance, should be a lot of trouble free miles

Ha ha yes it is better than a 1.6. I wasnt sure if you had missed the 4 out accidentally. As for problems, the only thing that I am aware about are the brake lines and drop links although my last T4 was a bit of a dog.

you can put a mbc on these and a filter and exhaust ,then they go very well and loads of torque.i would set the mbc at 1 bar max .make sure you have a boost gauge though.my mate runs 1.4 bar on his t4 on a standard map with vxr470cc injectors and fuels fine and dam quick too.he is getting 230whp.i would set the car up on the rollers to check the fueling if running lean stick some t4 injectors in.my mate has still got his very cheap too.

    Talking

it is just a "t" lol but from what i gather we are only talking about 7-8bhp difference between this and a t4? i have given it a full service and it runs sweet, with bags of excelleration considering im used to a 270 bhp 850 t5 i was quite impressed.

    2.0t - 160bhp, 170lb/ft (230nm)
    T4 - 200bhp, 220lb/ft (300nm)

Quite a big difference really and the power delivery is very different, the 2.0t is quite smooth with very little lag but the t4 is a lot more aggressive with the way it puts its power down, with lots of torque steer. lol

A remap would bring you close to a t4 in terms of power and because the 2.0t has so little lag, it would make a pretty quick little car.

Wouldn't bother with a remap mate y pay £300+ to get 190+hp when you could install boost gauge and MBC and push a bar n be closer to 200 and spend like 40quid......

That's all I get, buy a T4 ........ I love my 2.0t peeps! although there are some certain bits going on it when I can be bothered that should take me beyond the power of a T4, hopefully
