    Me7 ecu

    1 question

    how the hell do you get the bloody thing out????

    i can move the locating rods about 1/4inch then they wont go any further, but they need to go a further 1/4 inch to release the ECU.

    I have tried tapping them gently one side then the other too keep it even, gave up on that idea then smacked §§§§ out of it and they still will not release the ECU, there must be an easier way than the way im trying to do it.

    Use a thin knife mate and slide the pink clips at each side upwards.

    If it helps you, a special tool is needed, perhaps you could mimick it to remove.

    how can you slide them upwards they will only go backwards or forward

    Sorry wrong word. Slide them with a thin knife in opposite direction t what they are to start with.

    im assuming you mean put a thin blade underneath the ECU where the runners are outside edge? then push the rods?

    Yeah at each side of the ecu. I've only done it once and that was the other week with wobblydaves help. Good luck

    still struggling with this, the sliders will not move to the edge of the casing, they will only move to about half way then stop fast

    Right after looking at it very carefully you dont need any special tool to get it out, after fitting the ECU, immobiliser pick up ring and key it doesnt prime the pump up any ideas?? I wrapped the key and immobiliser ring in foil to stop the signal from the original key but still no go, is there a procedure to get it all to talk to each other?

    U can not just swap the ecu in a me7 car. The imoblisier chip in orgnial ecu is o ly one that will start the car. I know this as I bought a car with a remapped ecu and thought could put it in mine( was breaking the car).

    Hamish at hlm informed me luckily that wouldn't work. He has hopefully taken away the imoblisier In the remapped ecu and I await good news before he sends it upto me.

    if you read my post again i have the immobiliser, key and immobiliser ring, as far as i can tell and have been informed this is all you need

    I did read it. As far as I have been told the imbolizer chip in the ecu is paired to the "sem" and all other major electronic equipment.

    Like I say this is coming from hamish at hlm. It wasn't case he was trying to get my buisness but mearly informing me and dave.

    P1 V70 doesnt have the CEM, they came in on P2 models

    thanks for trying to help anyway. I think because its an Auto ECU going into a manual car the ECU is looking for the PNP switch which obviuosly isnt there

    Automatics are controlled by an entirely separate ECU. The CEM - Central Electronic Unit is buried in the dash - AFAIK all ME7 cars have them.

    my car already runs an Auto ECU, according to Vida Dice there is no CEM so now im totally confused, my mate Andy hooked his 2001 C70 Turbo upto Vida Dice and when he clicked on CEM it said not present???
