    All con rod are made of steel in a sand mould ( forged )
    So called "forged" rods are made the same way but are thicker.

    1996 850 T5 AWD - Self tuned M4.4 ECU with COP`s, B5254T ( S60R internals in a 850 block ) ostrich 2.0 , VXR injectors @ 3.8 bar, K24 turbo with a 6+6 compressor wheel, 3.25" MAF, top mounted Dump Valve, RN Exhaust manifold, 3" downpipe with 200 cell cat, 2.75" Stainless exhaust, Brembo calipers, S60R brake discs, stainless RIP kit, 3" Throttle body,

    So hold on, There are various strengths of forged rods then??

    How many years experiance with steels or old school tuning do you have then buddy??

    There various grades of steel from EN8 to EN24.
    I`ve been in engineering for the last 28 years but I`m not saying I`m an expert.

    "Quote" The details are under 1997 V70 T5 B5234 T engine and it says in black and white forged.......not forged in terms of anything but forged is forged or it ain`t forged.

    I have done old school tuning for over 40yrs and forged means exactly that.



    Looks like you could be incorrect.

    There could be different qualities of forging, which is what i was trying to explain.
