you wont have any rubbing issues if they are the standard 7" rim with 215 45 17's i changed mine to 40 profile to make the wheels look bigger and more attractive

Should have said, I'm looking for a fairly quiet tyre with a decent life, not gonna be pushing them to the limit.....all the time

i always go for racing type tread for looks and grip levels which to me is more important than tyre life, i have had falken ziex's and they always split on the inside, 3 failed the mot once for splits

Surprised Avons are better than Conti Contact 3 in the wet - they always come top of all the tyre tests for wet weather performance!

215/45/17 is the one for you bud.

This is always going to be a recommendation on tyre make to one's own personnel preference, however you really need to be looking at your budget, and if it can stretch to Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics I can assure you, you will not be disappointed. They will give you the most secure driving experience coupled to a very quite ride. May I suggest that prior to or as soon as, you have your car checked on a computerised 4 wheel alignment, this made so much difference in my cars handling characteristics, and eradicated under steer completely.

    No they don't

    http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/product...contact_3.html

I agree with what they say there, the avons on my s70 would just cut through standing water no problems. The contisports are ok but don't give the same level of confidence in the wet.

But they are fantastic in the dry.

Not tried them - have been running ZV3's quite happily for years, couldn't get Eagle F1's for my old bmw but, had to have Eagle NCT5's instead which were pretty good.

I run 215/45/17 on titans , cars lowered 40mm and I'm using uniroyal rainsports a lot better than Goodyear f1s in bad weather!
