that's a residual glow and not uncommon. a resistor across the the terminals will sort it (2.2k for interior lights, probably the same for sidelights)

Lights Position 0 ignition to second click HIDs on DRLs on
Lights Position 1 ignition to second click HIDs off DRLs on
Lights Position 2 ignition to second click HIDs on DRLs on

All of above once to go to engine on the DRLs turn off after about 5 seconds. Position 0 and 2 the HIDs stay on, position 1 no lights at all at the front.

    hmmmm... errrr.... ummmm...

LEDs can confuse Volvos - putting a led cluster in the wrong way in the interior lights can make the light stop working for a while so, I guess anything is possible lol.

    TBH, I'm confused

Try turning the LEDs around in the holders a these work both ways round not like most LEDs if not remove one led a refit normal lamp a try again sounds odd .
The ones in my car are fine I know this dosent help.
Sounds like system thinks there is a fault and shuts them off.
Just reading your last reply when your lights switch is off and you start you engine the lights come on side lights and headlights ,I don't have this set up on my car I wonder if this makes any difference.

Ok so it seems no matter what way round and which LEDs I use and whatever combination of light switch positions I choose my car will not run the LED sidelights when the engine is running. With the engine off they work fine. Very strange!

On a better note I finally managed to persuade the drivers side front indicator bulb to come out of the tight gap it's in and change it for the silver one. :-)

Hmmmm...I've got my HIDs, Osram LED sides to fit when my next purchase arrives- LED indicator bulbs all round. Really hope I don't have issues?! I put some silver indicator bulbs in last week and am so disappointed with them! They're so less bright than normal amber bulbs that I think they'll be difficult for other drivers to spot say on a motorway on a sunny day!! The LEDs should remedy that but I just hope the car doesn't s**t itself over it!

Just tried the LED sidelights on the gfs S60 D5 MY57 and they worked fine on that. Must be my car being awkward.
