boot spoiler on S60 retro fitted on S60, straight forward but you need to drill 2 holes !!

I left it to dealer, £80 to install it,

Oh jase, your so lazy mate! tsk!

Saw some crazy fiberglass/plastic spoilers for the 60's, some are a lip on the boot lid, some are a lip at the top of the rear window...

I would consider the window one with a bow spoiler (as fitted by someone other than Jase) as they look not too silly, very slight lip, probably enough to keep the rear window a bit clearer.

Have also seen the same boot lid lip for the C70's.

Btw, I do NOT mean this type of window spoiler (they got the spoil bit right tho!)

I still have a lip spoiler for the C70 bootlid. I am never going to install it - so it languishes in my shed unpainted. It sticks on. I am fairly sure it will work on a S60?

Talking Thread Revival for MY benefit

I want to fit a boot spoiler to my S60 but I'm divided as which style to choose....traditional boot spoiler or lip spoiler.

I like the idea of the lip spoiler being minimal and subtle...but then why bother.

The only thing that puts me off the traditional spoiler is that the wife and kids will probably be adamant on closing the boot by firmly slamming down on the spoiler, eventually either distorting it or breaking the damn thing.

    Quid for your thoughts.......

Matt....That boot spoiler does look the business, is it quite rigid or does it flex in the centre?

Pre-painted sounds good Harvey, may be calling Rufe in the morning.

    LOL @ Dave......I bet it's full of dust - it's been there since 2009

Finally got some spare funds to throw Simon's way at FRF & in return he sent me a large box -

which contained my new pre-painted spoiler....

After some very nervous drilling & a trip to the hardware shop to buy some thread lock, we went from this....

    to this....

It was quite an easy job but you just have to check, re-check and then check once more before drilling the boot lid, the kit does come with some paper templates that are correctly spaced - but drilling boot lids is not my forte.

It'll probably take me a day or two to get used to the spoiler, first impressions are 50/50 tbh.

    Cheers,

    Steve
