fitted auto gauge boost gauge but....

i haven't done the wiring yet, just the tubing, it reads 20 (-20?) on the inHg side of the dial on tickover and general pootling about and when i floor it reads about 6-7 (ish) psi, anyone know of this is usual for this gauge, and one other thing, i'm pretty certain i disturbed nothing electric in routing the tubing yet when i first turned the ignition the warning light stayed on for engine electrical system fault....coincidence?

-20 is normal, if you have an early T5 (850) I think 7psi is normal too.
Try pulling the battery for a couple of hours to clear the light or a code reader.
