    Is it ME7? (I think 98 is pre ME7)
If it is (no throttle cable) then MBC won't give you much, if any increase.
As for the BOV (recirc in this cace) yes, it's on the turbo - 3 10mm bolts holding it on.

i think he means on a ME7, you can't turn them up much over the stock pressure without it throwing a fit

you should be able to run 1 bar with a boost controller on a standard ecu, if you cant something else is wrong, get a hlm remap for £150 then it will run 1.1 bar, stick an mbc on after for 1.3 bar (good times) lol

sounds good. i will get a remap when i can afford it (just spent a fortune getting it through an mot) do you think it will run 1 bar without the fuel cut kicking in?

I just go on what I know - which is bringing an ME7 back to life, rather than killing various engines, gearboxes and suspension components.
Put an MBC on a ME7 engine and it'll throw a hissy-fit AFAIK - from what I've read about MY engine, ME7 don't like MBCs without a remap and even then you're pushing you're luck.
That's what I know, or think I know. Obviously, I don't have the experience of some members.

In that case, blank the recirc, fit the baily and throw a MBC on it and enjoy

I understand where Bones is coming from as my `97 V70 would not respond to the MBC i had, there was nowt wrong with it as i had it fitted on other motors, but the boost was only between 5 & 9 would not even reach 10psi.

My HLM304 was by post and i bought a new TCV instead of using the MBC now i am a solid 18psi

Map was £262 then £100 refunded upon return of old ECU. £12 was postage one way of course.
