I have recently come back to the Volvo fold after having a diesel of other make for 3 years....!!!!

    I've purchased a 2002 V70 2.4 se (140)

My question is can it be Rica'd as its a lot gutless compared to my previous T5..??

I'm sorry to say this but even with a remap its still going to feel gutless compared to a t5. N/A cars don't benefit from remaps like turbo'd cars do. I'v got an extra 20bhp (at the very most) out of my N/A 4.4 V8, so doubt you would get much from a 2.4.

Rica offer the 170HP upgrade as the 2.4 NA came in a 140hp verion and a 170hp version.

Thats a good increase, but its still a long way off being a t5, especially midrange.

I would have liked another T5 but this one came up as a good offer and it will only really be used as a work horse for my business. I might get it increased to 170 if thats a possibility and then change it in a year for another T5 hopefully if funds allow.

I'll prob speak with Hamish at volvotuning to see what he can do to it if anything..??

Theres definatly options for it and if it can take you to 170 then thats quite a big increase when you only have 140 to start with. As long as you don't expect miracles then it sounds like it could make a good difference. A remap made mine feel better and my increase was pretty small considering i had 286bhp to start with.

made it a bit better on fuel too.
