On that note, can I use the wash mitt for general two bucket cleaning duties?

Yep, got me a pack of cloths yesterday. as for the mit, It's fine, providing you give it a good jiggle when you go for the bucket.

Found that Tesco recently have a 3 pack of applicators with a plastic grip handle (which is really useful).
