    Forge alloy piston CBV

Just bought myself one of these. Anyone here got one fitted? I will be using the yellow spring due to my car not being standard.

I have got one of these fitted because my original one ripped and Volvo said it was not available as a spare part (new turbo only)

It's a good piece of kit. Unlike the OEM unit, you can hear it open.

The green spring can hold 1bar under its own tension, I have not tested the yellow spring yet.

I have the yellow spring fitted as I have my car mapped.

Hi, I've got one fitted with the green spring. Have had the car mapped since so I suppose I should fit the yellow spring. Get ready to spend a couple of hours lying on top of the engine when you fit it - an old pillow comes in handy!

I don't have any hard data for you or a boost gauge to compare the pre/post CBV fitting. But from the seat-of-the-pants experience it was worth fitting.

Boost levels don't seem to fade at higher RPM levels.

It makes sweet music on cooler days when the air box lid is removed and the weather strip taken off.

Good luck with the CBV - it is a tedious, frustrating install!

Yea 1st time I changed mine it took 3 hours on my P2 because the bottom Allen bolt can only be accessed with a ball Allen key with double jointed adapter. Takes ages.
When engine is cold disconnect water hose. Do not take cap off header tank and you will only loose about half ltr water as the system will lock. Make sure that you have the correct spring in (that's why I had to do mine twice)
