    V70 tdi

Has anyone fitted a chip box to a V70 TDi?

I don't want to spend a fortune, but just want a little more pull !

hi Andy. My Mrs (me really) wants a similar tuning box for her V40 Td. for the 1.9td they state it will lift the output from 115bhp to 147! Likely story. On the bay of flea the boxes are about £70.
Has anyone got 1 ? do they really raise the cars performance and economy on a run like the sellers claim?
.....sooper moose. '97 850R manual. Yum yum.

    I wouldn't touch a "tuning/chip-box" with a bargepole.

The "chips" are a waste of time.
IIRC the 850/V70 P1 TDI engines are VAG units.
Speak to MRC Tuning, They may be able to help

Not all box`s are crap. I have a box mounted on mine TDi and it is 164 hp and 360nm.

Motor 436000 km. So i think some box`s do work.

Personally if you want more power look into a remap.

A few years ago I had a 1.9 CDTI Sigmun.

I fitted a DTUK Green Tuning Box.

All was fine for a while and yes a big increase in performance.

Then the EML came on. Removed the box and off went the EML.

Carried on driving the car in standard form without getting the codes read.

Then came the smell of diesel from the engine bay.

The diesel pump was sweating diesel from the plates on the casing were they had been bent/distorted by being over pressurised.

Vauxhall wanted £1200 ish for a new pump as it was beyond repair.

Well. Thats my experience with a tuning box.

    Wink

i tell you what.... i had a tuning box added to my Renault Laguna 1.9DCI, & it flew!!!

the MPG went up & performance was MUCH improved, after a while it became impossible to drive the car without it.... everyone moans about these boxes but for common rail diesels theyre superb IMO.
