Progressive controller would be the way to go, bring the delivery in how and when you want it. Help spool up.

Wizards of NOS build some of the best progressive controllers and solenoids.

he hasn't been around for ages, but the member called twistedsanity used to make some very serious progressive controllers. Mates got one on his race van

I would have done - but I wasn't even sure you're still alive nevermind still posting! LOL

Do I need a forged engine to run NOS or just ARP headbolts to stop it flying apart?

    Any tips would be appreciated.

It depends on what power you have now and how much extra you want, it has nothing to do with nitrous, if you are heading north of 350bhp, then you will probably need a forged engine.

    Red face

yeah i am still loitering from time to time.

actually i bought a mint 850 2.5 auto estate last week so i am a volvo driver again.

you can normally add a certain percentage as claymore said before forged parts are needed. i did not actually change any internals on mine, despite the rumours!

i think it would be fair to say you can go to 320 ish on a t5 before considering them from feedback on here. - dont do what i did and find you are just over the limit, but i only had that problem when i fitted the progressive controller. i never investigated why so i just went back to on full throttle only. the progressive controller caused some sort of misfire - won told me maybe the frequency of the pulsing was not right for the engine, but needed investigation so i just binned it and went back to what i knew was ok.
bear in mind there will be more strain and pressure on nos, so an upped boost 320 is more testing to the engine than a nos'd 320.

it did take some experimenting to work out the correct ratios, and it did not work as well on a single injector system so i had to go direct port which was spot on.

I already have 320 bhp. I am building a forged engine. See where it leads...

As for controlling it I guess my ME7 will be another challenge.

its not an auto still is it?

the easiest way to set it up is an activation switch that gets pressed at full throttle mounted on the pedal stop on the floor. but i wonder if an auto might cause problems if the engine is dropping revs for gearchanges, you still have the pedal fully depressed and the gas is flowing- could cause pre detonation? -

claymore - do you know if this could happen on an auto ?

Daves is a manual, so the WOT switch on the throttle pedal is a good idea on an me7

on a pre me7 you can put the switch here:

ah ok, he has seen the light then. shows how out of touch i am.

i dont see why the throttle switch wont work on any engine management system at all. it is working independently - the alternative of a wire piggybacked on to the wires going to the etm only sense the voltage and turn the system on at full throttle only, so it is a simplified method of the same thing.

i made the choice because it was less likely to go wrong.

what i cant tell you is if you might get some 'over flow' errors from the maf or similar as it see more air than expected but as long as the a/f ratio is checked and ok. i always also got a engine light and maf sensor error if the bottle was less than a third full when lifting off on overrun - this was because the pressure drops slightly inside the bottle after this point.

what system have u got claymore? holley also use the same pedal mounted switch for most applications dont they?

I sold my auto 6 years ago FFS! LOL

I thought given that I was doing a racing engine - I may as well plumb in the giggle gas as well.

BTW I am planning a day at the pod - 11th August if you fancy it, Madness?
