Smoke on Start up (valve stems)
After engine warm, pull dip stick see if there's smoke chuffin out (pcv)
Water in Header tank excesively high when warm and running (blocked rad)
    or worse

NSF Passenger side carpet wet, or mist coming out of vents when heater is on (Matrix)
    Clutch Slip
Should boost half into white zone of the in car boost gauge (turbo) if not faulty bcs or split boost pipe diaphram etc etc
    Juddering when braking Warped disc's
Clunking over bumps (stabiizer links) worn top mounts etc
Whining pas, could be the pump
Pas system leaks quite comon from what i've experienced. fluid under car front offside subframe.

Under boot floor, nsr chassis rail corroded, These car are getting old.

Puff of blue on run after hard boost, out of the zoost, Turbo seals.

I'm sure i've missed a few things but these are what springs to mind.

wishbones are a common fail too, wobble when braking or pulling to one side could be a wishbone balljoint knackered

Welcome to the forum. Don't let the above put you off, these things can happen but never all at once lol. The slogan "for life" really suits these cars. There are shabby ones out there but there are some real hunnies too. Mine is still sweet as a nut at 9 years old with 187k on the clock and I got one of the unreliable ones. Yes ive put a few quid into it recently but worth every penny, skinned knuckle and naughty word

i've done 60.000 miles with these cars and have had experianced 6 850 t5's, and have given my imput on this experiance.

As Mart said these issues dont all happen at once, but are just notes to look for as your question asked.
