    2002 V70 T5 Dashboard Lights

Jumped in the motor this morning and had total failure of dashboard warning lights.....nothing at all!! Exterior lights and indicators all OK but nowt inside regarding full beam, hazard lights, handbrake etc.

Anybody had similar issue or any ideas to a fix???

Hmm, has anything else failed on the cluster? dial(s)? info screen garbled? if you press the top or bottom of the cluster hard, does it all come back on?

First thing to check would be the fuses but I think the most likely explanation would be DIM failure, sorry to say. What a day, I've just given somebody else similar news.
there's 4 possible things you can do here (after you check all the fuses)
    1. take the battery neutral off and wait about 2 hours and put it back on, sometimes it can reset problems
    2. take the battery neutral off and wait about 2 hours and dismantle the cluster. take the PCB to a tv/mobile phone repair shop and get them to resolder the Motorolla chip, there's a good chance this will cure it but it's unknown how long it would last, usually it's permanent. This will cost you about 50 quid.
    3. take it to HLM who will fit a second hand unit and reprogram it for about 350 quid
    4. take it to a main stealer who will take about 750 quid off you for a new one.

Never remove the DIM without disconnecting the battery - it will throw an srs warning which won't go away

I honestly hope it's just a fuse, I nearly scrapped my car when the DIM failed.

Another thing to try would be take the cluster out without unplugging it and, with the ignition on, twisting it, see if anything happens. this will confirm the chip needs resoldering but not rule it out.

??? Not heard of that one. You may not have a popped DIM.
Did you check ALL the fuses? There's 3 fuseboards around the car. One under the bonnet, one in the side of the dash - drivers side and one in the boot.

Possibly a failing central.control module? Not sure if a code reader will help but its gotta be worth a go.
After that, id may be worth (and i hate saying this) getting a main stealer to diagnose

I like your style sometimes, a black dog can run in front of cars while driving down quiet roads. It's luck they are thw safest car in their class - by a long way.
As for the beemer, they are a good car but fuel and thread will cripple most wall street bankers
