    Angry kkk is it just to big for standad 2.3 engine

    hi all as you are all aware that i got a diff kkk for my car,its a pukka condition turbo bin refurb profesonaly etcetc... and its just shown up a weakness in my engine with in 10miles no4 cyliner is down alot pos headgasket or split etc...the question is unless i have a absolute mint engine with all pukka pressure in all 5 cylinders is this turbo just gunna show up or destroy it if it osnt 100% because im not gunna be impressed if i / me and merc lol go through all the bloody agro changeing it and it kills it pretty quick im not gunna be impressed...i can see why they was put on a 2.5l now gggrrrrrr

    sensible opinions please as im at a cross road of what to actually do plz

    they are not much bigger than a 19t mate and plenty of people are using them, the 2.5 isnt any stronger, stick with it mate it will be worth it when its done

    Don't think my spare lump will be up for it I'll have todo compression test on it befor I think about installing it...

    Keep going mate. Will be worth it. It's not a huge turbo, a little bigger than 19T as someone said.

    Look at it this way - woodyt5 is pulling mid 13s on the 1/4mile and his engine isn't forged or anything (yet) and i'm sure his car has done loads of miles.

    Apart from rods, the 2.3 is a decent engine, but because they are getting on now not every engine will be the same. We may look after them, but who knows how some of the previous owners maintened them, you can never be 100%. Something like being driven by someone for 50k mile on 95 petrol, won't have been good for the engine.

    As far as the spare engine you have, i'm sure it's a good one. And really mate it aint that bad changing the engines over.

    it will work why dont you fit a new headgasket on the engine you have in the car already and then you can check the condition of the engine before putting the headgasket on mate.

    Because it will cost a Head Gasket and Stretch bolts on a suspect lump/head.

    Cheaper to just test the replacement engine and chuck that in.

    yeah mate just coming up to 200k and still going strong and well as ad many oil change`s and servicing done over the years

    true but i would still check before replacing it.

    could be worth a strip down of old lump to see whats wrong before you buy any parts or replace lump

    ive stripped half of it out lol thats how i got the 14.2 but i was still carrying a passenger so there is more to come from the old girl before it retires i reckon i can get under 14 at avon

    all i can say would love to see it think i will hit very low 13s or high 12s this year due to a few upgrades?
