Hi...yep i've done it but I changed the disks at the same time so it was calliper off held on by two bolts, probably easier that way, they were a bugger even then. i'm presuming you have the single cylinder floating type.

As I said on the phone - the only way to get the caliper back in is to use a g clamp or a large pair of water pliers and push them back in.

Clock is still ticking - 09:40am!

Re-compressing the caliper is definately the hardest part of the pad swap.

Volvospeed how-to, YAYAHHH! Volvospeed has a ton of great resources there, we do have lots of other write-ups and helpful guides. Oh, and I don't want to forget the forums over there, lots of helpful topics that aren't covered in write ups.

Take the cap off the brake fluid reservoir and they'll go back alot easier.

    i have done it!!!!!!!!!!!

    i have done it lads!!!!!!!!!!!!11

i agree, the worst part is the piston going back in,(used a clamp)
and also a mad rush to get a diffeent socket, one side had star sliders, and the other had a 7mm allan key sliders?

what the hell is going on there?

anyway, just test drove the car, seems fine.

thanks for daves advice, and it only took me 2 hours!and that included 7 cigarette breaks!!!!!!!!!!!!

    see you all asap

Good job! I had a lot of fun on my first brake job, but definately am prepared to do it when it needs to be done next time (new car needs it now, I am just too lazy ).
