    Is it Gay?

    Hi,

I am now the proud owner of a S70R Manual in a rather striking shade of Metallic Orange ! Natalie is suitably unimpressed, Marcus thinks it's cool and I can't believe I've bought a Old Gold Volvo. It's a straight old bus with service history, 137K, good interior and it drives OK, except for the PAS is making some interesting noises. Tomorrow morning I'll take the kids for a drive to Shelsley Walsh for breakfast and see if it breaks down ! I might even put it through the Car Wash before we go ! I'm undecided what to do with it ........either I just get it all up together and smoke around in it and then sell it when somebody makes me an offer I can't refuse.......or keep it and spend 30 x more than I paid for it on hybrid turbo, down pipe, bilstein shocks, brakes, tyres, shiny bits etc and then use it for terrifying Wobbly at track days and then sell it for a fraction of what I have spent!
I'll put up some photos tomorrow.

    Regards,
    Hamish.

use it to hack around in.

An S40 T4 would make a much better track car (maybe with a Holset turbo ? )

Went for a drive this morning to Shelsley Walsh Breakfast Club in the "Orangutan" parked it between a Disco4 and an Audi RS4 and let it leak oil in the Shelsley Paddock like a real classic. Meantime we (Marcus, Tasha & Me) went to the resturant and demolished breakfast and then "walked the hill".

So far I'm really enjoying S70R ownership mostly because Nats hates it ! I've reminded myself at every corner how truly awful the brakes and handling is/was on these cars and that skuttle shake isn't just restricted to Wobbly's C70. I'm hoping that the colour never grows on me in the same way that I hope Ginger hair never grows on me.

    Regards,
    Hamish.
