This is how my P1 was sat when first fitted (lowest possible setting on front, 5mm thread remaining!. and on the rear to match, I think about 60mm thread remaining!)

Tyre to arch gap! (Or lack of!!)

And now fitted to my P2,but obviously raised up 30mm from the previous setting (I think 36mm thread front, 92mm thread rear)

The 17" arcadias definitely made yours look lower!

it was great fun for the 3 years I had it that low, but when I bought the P2 I decided that it was probably a smidge too low!

In those 3 yrs I managed to smash the insides of my oe cat to the point I had to replace it, scrape every bit of underseal off my frame rails, and loose the lower portion of my front bumper!
That being said It was all courtesy of my local speed bumps and not 'normal' roads, and I did still manage to get 300kg! of purple slate in the boot (with passengers) when we did the garden and all with no scrubbing on the rear lol!!

Siamblue's rear suspension bushes were slightly different to mine, maybe this could be something to consider

A silly question maybe, but was your car lowered before fitting the coilovers?
I know you had no noise before fitting them but if you had std suspension originally, then all of the bushes will be 'sitting' differently now and if any of them are worn that may a possible cause of some noise?

Perhaps try taking the coilover out completely and re-tighten the remaining setup in place then manipulate the trailing arm to see if there is any noise from the bushes?

I can feel the slack in the coil over, when one side was on the axle stand i could move the shocker up and down and i could feel give in it.The shocker its self isnt knackered. Its like there is something missing from the set up

Could you post a complete or preferably dismantled pic of your setup showing which pieces you have and in what order?
do you have the silly little 10mm washer/spacer on the strut? (after the bump stop but before the main cone)

Ok, If you completely dismantle the coilover you should have: over the strut shaft a plastic cap over the shaft seal, followed by a large plastic washer, then the rubber bump-stop with the dust boot over the top, followed by the 10mm washer.
Then on the outside, the adjuster, the smaller helper spring, followed by the large plastic spacer and the large main spring, then the final cone.
I have almost a full set of used spare parts for these coilovers if you do find that anything is missing.

Just had my FK coilovers fitted.
All seemed fine on the short drive home but i got some grind from the front coilovers when i turned left/right.
Will double check to see if the top plastic mount was fitted. (no. 10 in diagram a few pages back)
Other than that i think its too low so may raise it a little.

    Cheers
