    T5 Vs T5R engine spec

I know this has probably come up before, but I really cannot be bothered to search for the answer..

But what actually gives the difference in HP between the 2 engines?

    Thanks

As far as I've learnt standard T5 is 225bhp, T5-R is 240bhp as a result of a different ecu map that allows for a short period of 'over-boost' to generate the extra bhp and then the 850-R which has a bigger turbo altogether. This is simplifying it a bit (and there are many on here who will be able to tell you all the differences) but I think thats about it.

i found this the other day & interested about this special intercooler, any one know anything about it?

if you want 10bhp more then yes, but it wasn't a limited edition like the T-5R so don't think they hold the money as well

not on the 850's Mike (they did an 850 awd but not with the T-5 engine), V70R was the first high power 4x4

    Thumbs up

Thanks, I now know a little bit more about the range!
Maybe next year I'll be looking for a V70R!

Once tuned the engine power/spec is the same. The AWD versions of the V70R are expensive when they throw Transfer boxes, without proper tyre wear management - so I would look to a Phase 2 V70 if I were you??
