That is so good to see and I now know who to call if I have a major mechanical issue. To have done that in Summer would have been some achievement, but yesterday with the conditions and then darkness- hats off to you.

Hope the clutch is sorted soon and that the car is OK for Cadwell.

I hoping theyre all going to offer to come up here and fit my clutch for me. I could even supply a nice large farm shed to work in.

I'd come up to help you mate, if an extra pair of hands would make it easier for you. Nice drive upto Carlisle, and I would feel better about the MBC/gauge that you've offered to fit for me.

Lets just say I wont be rushing out any time soon to do my manual conversion! I was quite supprised how many blooming issues we ran into on Frankies car despite the fact complications are usually reserved for whenever I touch mine!

Just a little hacked off we could get the clutch done and working, at least however on crank she did move.

    Urrmm in a word YES!

The snow guard usually blocks the intake up completely hence at least why I removed mine. I dont carry it around in the boot though "just incase of snow" so funily enough steam out of bay decided to happen.

Im not entirely sure how it would help though as snow stuck to all plastic so either way the car would be recieving no "fresh air"?
Arguing is pointless....she may not be right but she's never wrong

Definitely team spirit there lads, I still think I preferred my paying local garage £120 to fit new clutch, much less hassle.

Really nice to catch up with you again Gary.

Today 6am start and 9pm finish.

M59 Removal and Re-fitment plus a new single mass flywheel and clutch.

With the help of my mate Joe (rockheadrumble) we managed to get everything back together again bar the clutch bleeding and the top intercooler pipes re-fitted as we ran out of brake fluid.

What a pig of a job though, the M59 shafts are a pain in the bottom, the wishbones wouldnt separate, many bolts sheared off and the gearbox decided to double collar itself and needed two collars hacksawing off whilst wedged off to get it seated correctly.

All is though a productive day and nearly finished... Frankie the rests up to you mate!

Oh and you make a nice brew

    Some Pics:

    Start of the day:

    Lowering the subframe:

    Frankie looking busy...

Here is the damage to the old M59, as you can see the diff split right open.

Single and dual mass combintations together:

    Putting her together again!

    Snow and darkness:

    Jorney home:

The journey back was awful, many stranded motorists and it took little over 4 hours to do 85 miles.

The car however in "Winter Mode" never was faultered. Even made it up a 15 degree gradient just outside home making tracks for other stranded motorists to follow in.

She did get a little hot however as the intake was full of snow so needed a top-up and a good cool down.
Well done People Good to See a Red, 850 helping out the Saffy crew

is that a real question? you mean drive around and be bored with the car i have built? no mate its meant to be enjoyed and thats always what i will do with it, cars break that's life then they get fixed, unlike alot of people that doesn't mean scrapping them. i try and go easier on the gearbox though, bit of luck i found an m59

Frankie if you hadn't found a box then you might have been going round the track in an old angle box.

Well done guys.. Much more of a mission than me..
My good turn for the day was to clear the entrance to the estate and clear two channels about 30-40 metres long up the hill..

Slightly annoyed that three houses on my estate came out of their houses to clear their own drive whilst I was doing it, but didn't even acknowledge me unlike the homecare nurse that stopped to thank me as there are three OAP houses on our street when she doesn't even live round here.
