    gearbox differences

    Is an m56l an m56l no matter what 850 it comes out of i.e 2.0 or 2.5? thanks

    LINK, there were 3 different final drive ratios on M56L's, personally i'm going for a longer ratio box

    Sorry I was thinking in regards to strength rather than ratios.

    not all the same, the early ones had a different speedo drive, i know because mine is. would that fit a v70r or would it need altering?

    850 ones need modifying to fit v70's as internal and external slaves

    The M56L has a different 1st & 2nd gear to a M56H, the other 3 gears are the same ratio. So if you get one with the same 4.00:1 as our M56H all your gaining is more wheelspin unitl you get into 3rd, then its exactly the same as before

    you got any info on the final drive for a v70 2.0 20v?

    Wouldn't matter, as the later cars used the ABS sensors for the speedo drive

    Good chance to do away with ya DMF and get a 850r clutch fired in.

    yeah it would fit but i'm looking for something different a 2.0 box would give better acceleration but max out at 140 ish
