Notice a difference in Mileage? I couldnt believe how easy once in pieces it was to change the mileage.

    So why you may ask?

Well after I filled up with fuel some few weeks ago I reset the trip on the car and suddenly the clocks stopped counting. I was curious to see what if anything caused it and how it could be repaired. I discovered it couldnt without alot of tricky microscopic pieces falling out.

As a result I sourced another set from Aladins Cave (my garage so Im told) and I wanted to take apart another set before risking damage to the new clocks.

This does mean that now I can set the mileage spot on and wont notice a difference. I could have left the original clocks frozen but it was irritating me.
I have had the speedo off the clock and the Rev counter at 6800Rpm!!!!!!
I only had a brief glance but thank god for Roman roads
Was it an easy job to Do Emyln? and what had gone in it?

    Cheers Greg

I would swap my P2 for a good 850r any day (doubt Mrs. MRP would agree)

I'm not still bitter and/or twisted, really
I had a customers DIM repaired. The whole dim was not working. Sent it to a local specialist (who do loads of Volvo dims) fully repaired it, worked 100% when reinstalled, including there and back next day delivery the total cost was £119.

    Who on earth charges £732.50???!!!!!!

Thats silly money. To get the dim out....1 x 25 torx screwdriver. And less than 2 minutes to get it out and the same (but reversed) to refit it.

The DIM was about 600 quid from Volvo, the rest was software and half hour labour. I couldnt get the old one repaired as it had been repaired so many times before and was completely screwed. After it nearly caught fire on the M3, I had to kill it in such a way that it was no longer a fire hazard but would still let me lock the car. Grrr, had no choice but to pay up

It wasnt too hard to be honest greg. As I believe one of the splines had "worn" away. The simplest solution was to get another working set and reprogram the odometer to match the correct mileage and fit that unit. There isnt any easy way of taking the "counting parts" to pieces.

I know yours is faulty too, if you like ill configure a set for you to your mileage and swap them over for your current ones. Its a simple job and I can fit them for you too if you like. Just need to know if you have 150mph or 160mph clocks and the required mileage.

Shame the counter has stopped working I am sure I've seen repair kits for those listed for sale somewhere... maybe eBay?
