Thumbs up Took the Car off the Clocks Today!

Well today I managed to do this...

I would have been really impressed if it were not for the fact I had the clocks in a million pieces and used my finger to hold it in place!

Notice a difference in Mileage? I couldnt believe how easy once in pieces it was to change the mileage.

    So why you may ask?

Well after I filled up with fuel some few weeks ago I reset the trip on the car and suddenly the clocks stopped counting. I was curious to see what if anything caused it and how it could be repaired. I discovered it couldnt without alot of tricky microscopic pieces falling out.

As a result I sourced another set from Aladins Cave (my garage so Im told) and I wanted to take apart another set before risking damage to the new clocks.

This does mean that now I can set the mileage spot on and wont notice a difference. I could have left the original clocks frozen but it was irritating me.

I have been close before in Germany. The satnav recorded a speed of 143mph and its still there.

It was so simple to take apart Martin you wouldnt believe it! maybe 12 torx bits and the pcb had next to no wiring or tracks.

Benefit of an older car? Maybe...

As for the crotch, I was sitting on the sofa fiddling with it(that sounded very wrong!)... what did you expect???

The clocks on the old stuff really are simple i changed the needles and dials from a non me7 set into an me7 car and that was a total strip down.

The P2 DIMs really are a nightmare to take apart. And as for the stupid amount of technology involved in a simple bloody speedo, which isn't made very well and subsequently costs 732.50 to fix when it eventually goes wrong (if you're not lucky enough to have it set fire to your car) ggggrrrrrrrrrr.
I would swap my P2 for a good 850r any day (doubt Mrs. MRP would agree)

I'm not still bitter and/or twisted, really

143mph is the record on my sat nav as well (also in germany), in my last t4. It said 150mph on the clock, still a fair bit left in it as well.

I bottled it, as it felt a bit weird that it was just 2 lanes!

Only this morning I noticed that the bulb on the revs side of my clocks has gone! Did they look like they could be easily replaced?

...oh and some blind pillock backed into the front wing of my car that I've not even owned for a week tonight... ACE!
