How much for my S70 T5 CD Auto

    Hi all

I'm going to be selling my S70 T5 - I could trade it in - would be much less hassle than a private sale, but plenty more expensive too. What do you think I could sell it for privately and what sort of market is there at the moment?

Its on an R, 1998, 65k miles, silver, black leather, sunroof, winter pack etc etc. really good condition - standard car, 16" T5 alloys etc.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Simon

The below are price guides from Wisebuyers.co.uk

    Private Good: £4,103

    Private Average: £3,153

    Private Poor: £2,263

    Part Exchange: £3,433

    Trade: £3,214

I sold my S70 T5 CD Manual with 75k miles last month and got £4500 for it, however, i think that was top book price and i was very lucky to fetch that much.

Realistically, and working from the market at the moment, I think your car is worth £4k

    Hope that helps

If we are talking realisticly then I'd say 3.3k - i just paid a lot less for that for a top spec manual on an R and I know Don has just paid a LOT less for a fully modified S70!!

The market for the 70's just isn't great at the moment I'm afraid

    Thanks for your help

Thanks for your help everyone - the car I'm looking to buy is the C70 at the top of this list

    http://www.ravenscroftvolvo.co.uk/sal_showroom.htm

The picture is a library picture - haven't gone to see the actual car yet, but he says its straight - have to judge when I see it - I think this is top money and when I asked what he would sensibly consider for cash he said he wouldn't negotiate as all his cars are already keenly priced! If he wants to sell cars he might have to think again!!

If I part ex my S70 in I would hope for the £3.4k mark given he wants so much for the C70, but what do people think of this C70 and the price he wants?

    Thanks again all.

He might give you more as he is an independent specialist they can often get away with charging a bit more than a general 2nd hand car dealer.
I would nt be suprised if your car was on his website at around 5k as he has a basic S40 on there with more miles for 4k!

As a trader I think he'll be offering you bottom book on the S70 - he's out to make all the profit he can get (and he is making a lot if he is selling at those prices)

Thats a lot of cash for that car and if he claims he isn't going to barter I cant see you getting it for less than 8k - have you not been able to find anything more reasonable that your interested in? Why pay over the odds for a C70 when the market is flooded with them?
