    S40 2.0t questions.

As some of you know i can only drive autos (lazy) and have been looking for an s40 t4 lately as a short term car, but as theres very few autos around (phase 2 and in decent condition), i thought that if i got a 2.0t auto i could just do a few mods and be running similar power to a t4 (maybe not as much up top, but should have good low down power because of its tiny turbo).
I was thinking that with a panel filter, sports cat and remap that it should be running similar power to a t4.

    Questions are -
    1) how easy are these to remap (my t4 was mapped by a previous owner, so i'm not sure as i'v read they are difficult).

    2) If i did decide to go further (i.e fit a 14t from a t4), what else would need doing e.g injectors, fuel pump, intercooler, that kind of stuff. As i don't know if they use the same injectors, fuel pump etc as the t4.

I know that theres not many people that have modded 2.0ts, but thought i'd ask anyway.

    Cheers.

BSR PPC might be an easy option: 200bhp and £400.

Didn't even know they did those for the old s40s. £400 is pretty cheap for bsr stuff.

Because (as i said! lol) hardly any decent phase 2 s40t4 autos around.

have a look on autotrader, ebay, pistonheads, etc. If you can find a phase 2 s40 t4 thats not got over 150k miles on it, let me know.

2.0T engine is quite different to the T4 (and much weaker)... if you wanna go fast, get a T4 then u won't regret it later when you want even more power!

I know the engine isn't as strong as the t4, but the car i'm looking for seems to be hard to find for the right money in the right condition. So i'm just loooking for something to have for a while after i sell mine, doesn't have to be fast but a standard 2.0t is not quick enough.

They aint expensive to buy so i wouldn't be arsed if i did fit a bigger turbo and it went bang. lol

2002, 77k miles, auto, black, sport lux (which is a really nice trim level). What more could you want?

Sure, it's a V40, but they're just the same, and carry more!!!

Shame 'cos that's quite a nice car, the V40. You didn't add "not black" to your criteria earlier, either!

So you want a not-black, S40, between 2001 and 2004, less than 100,000 miles, auto, good condition and properly maintained...!

Don't buy a 2.0T anyway. They have different suspension, often less goodies inside, etc. We used to have one as a family runabout. Wait for the right T4.

It is nice for a v40. Actually what i should have said is i wouldn't mind a black car, for a short time, but not something i'm going to keep.

    Less than 150k. lol

I'v noticed they have less kit on them, but as it would just be a short term thing, as long as its got AC, i'm not too fussed.

    Both manuals frankie! lol

Have thought about it, but the car i'm really looking for only came in auto, so no point really.

    Anymore info on mapping 2.0ts?

What about the newer S40 T5's like Mr Monkey's got?

Surely can be had for cheap enough now?

I'v looked at 6 mate, if i'm going for something like that then it needs to at least be in as almost as good condition as mine and none were close in fact they'v been pretty sh*te to be honest.

Anyway thats not the car i'm talking about, they did do some 540s in manuals and i'm pretty sure that the car i'm looking for were all autos (well, tiptronic, steptronic, whatever its called?)
