    In the 1st pic buddy, where the drive shaft goe's into the gearbox/engine, the rubber boot looks wet, possible grease. no probs bud

    Right. It could be that the car had only just come inside from being driven in the pouring rain, or it could be something amiss. Not sure. Will have to wait til I can get it up on the ramps.

    Right, another quick update; Emlyn and I discovered a fuel leak last night. The small fuel line going between the metal pipes that run over the top of the engine and the injector rail had perished, quite badly at both ends and split in the middle. This was leaking a significant amount of fuel even at idle.

    Solution: The breakers yard that is his garage had some spare fuel hose in stock, so we were able to replace it there and then.

    As Emlyn quite rightly pointed out, it's a miracle the engine had not caught on fire! I did 400 miles over the weekend and that leak was probably there the whole time.

    No pictures unfortunately as it was getting rather dark by the time we'd got it fixed.

    That same thing happened to mine when I left it over the winter months, to anyone with a similar car I'd certainly advise that this pipe is checked and if possible replaced
