Turborebuild.co.uk also do diy rebuild kits, I've had one from them before and it was fine. Only problem is that the turbo really should be balanced after a rebuild, but most places won't balance one unless they do the rebuild.

18T will need a 'super back' washer. Dont buy a flat back kit.
Heres a super back rebuild kit. Or..search ebay for a td04 rebuild kit and remember it has to be a super back.

personally i've take the turbo to a specialist to get refurb'd, i've seen turbo that have had ebay rebuild kit that are still knackered because its not as simple as replacing the seals/bearings. If the bearing are worn then the excess shaft play would cause the fins to touch the inside of the casing, plus it would need rebalancing as soon as you've touched/moved the impellers

me to and not just volvo turbos......as long as the turbo is just smoking and shaft wear is ok and the kits come with a bearing and all seals so no probs there..just make sure your work place is clean..
we rebuild all our work vans and we dont balance them as have no means to do it we only buy a new/recon core unit if vanes have broken or touched the side.so far only ones that come back are due to driver abuse from not checking the oil weekly

i'm sure they only balance them for fun anyway, not as if there spinning at a high rpm or anything

i know many that have rebuilt turbo's & work fine, i also know some that haven't. If was me i wouldn't risk the time & effort of taking it off to do a half job, get it done properly & know its right
