    Brisk spark plugs.

Just ordered a set of American spark plugs called Brisk. Quad electrode shaggers that look pretty fancy. I'm not usually taken in by all the seller talk bull****, but I have been recomended them by a mate of mine, and apparently they use them in Lambo's and other silly Italian cars, and also in the world of Nascar, (where your Mum's actually your Dad, and your Brother's yout Uncle). Just wondering if anyone here has tried them before, and what results? My car isn't LPG, even though I'm told they are usually sold to prevent LPG missfires from cold cos' they are supposed to have a big spark etc. Will let you know how I get on with them when they come anyway

Interesting. I've never heard a bad thing said about the Volvo plugs, even on tuned engines, but these could be better. Possibly.

Being a mechanic, and in the trade I have access to alot of parts suppliers. However did something I rarely do with car parts and got them off ebay. I'll post a link to the page and quote the part number of the plugs I've ordered to quote to the seller if anyone wants a set.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3604088134...84.m1439.l2649

The part number to quote to the seller is DOR15LGS (as long as they are the same as what's in mine wihich is a 1999 fly by wire t5). Only £30-odd quid a set which doesn't seem too much to me. A set of Bosch plat tipped cost me about £26 a few weeks ago with my discount, or a set of NGK plats would of cost me about £32 on trade (if I remember rightly). Not on trade the NGK's retail at about £50 and the Bosch at about £45 or something for a set of 5, so if anyone wants a set of Bosch platinum tipped, that have been in for about a month and covered about 800miles, I'll sort you out. I know it's a bit cheap scate-ish putting 2nd hand plugs in but I won't keep them, and they are brand new and don't really want to waste them.

I will report back when I get the Brisks and let you know if they are any good.

Just bought a set of these.
The model number I found for my 1999 V70 T5 was the DOR14LGS.
    Will report back once fitted.

Is yours the one with a cable for the throttle body rather than electronic?

Got my plugs today, if anyting they looked partially a bit cheap and nasty, and partially high quality so I put them in anyway. Not really been anywhere to try it out with them in but don't think that it's cured the startup missfire unfortunately. I'm off for xmas next week so will hopefully get chance to sort it out then. Going to have to look at it propperly cos' t's really getting on my tits now every time I start the shagger up!

Changed it about 5k ago. If it was that fuel pressure issues would cause more problems when toweling it. Going to look at the air temp sensor next I think... I'll take whatever for the plugs too be honest. Just don't want them to go to waste lol

I got mine yesterday. I thought they looked ok but the gap between the centre pole and the earth tabs looks huge to me! Here's some pics for those interested.

I'll be trying these out later. By coincidence, this same model (I recieved the DOR15 model as the seller said this was what I needed, not the DOR14) is recommended for my Nissan 200SX so will try them in that too.

tempted to give these a try, as the spark will be travelling across the electrode won't be in the way of the explosion/ combustion. Does look a big gap tho

The plug leads would have to be in as new condition to get the spark across a gap like that. In a lot of cases the spark will come straight through the plug lead insulation rather than jump that gap. also the coil will need to work at max output all the time. What's the normal gap .027" or thereabouts? and you're expecting the spark to jump that gap? Hmmmmmm.

    Salut!
