    Fmic

I read that Tim Williams is the man who has made a FMIC for the S60 that is a direct replacement for the standard one. Anyone know if he is still about?

Yeah hes still about.. I can pm you his phone number if you want.

Its not a direct replacement though, there is a bit of faffin around as itsits infront of the aircon unit ( hence front mount) Its a superb bit of kit thought.

For a standard off-the-shelf remap would you need one?

Here's a post I found from Tim which suggests it's almost essential?

Universal type intercoolers with a remap give intake temps of 55-62c. Wegal and lookbehindyou had intake temps under the same conditions of between 21-23. There are many algorithms in the maps that will cause reduced performance based on IAT's, Lambda and estimated EGT's so reduced performance can happen at some odd times for example when under high load going from 3-6k if an IAT of 60c is reached then after the gearchange the ignition timing will be retarded by 8-10 degrees. Of course not all maps are the same but most leave the inbuilt factory protection in place and it's this that is retarding th ignition timing. This will be felt as poor/ inconsistent performance if say multiple overtaking is being done..

don't you have to drill the front crash bar off to fit it?
