    Compression

Done a service on my motor today, the usual - plugs, rotor, dizzy, oil, filter - any way as ive not done any work on said engine (only routine servicing) i decided to see what compressions were, manual says '11 to 13 bar' or 160 to 188 psi... Anyway on a warm engine, i got:
    1 - 162
    2 - 160
    3 - 160
    4 - 160
    5 - 170

As you an see these are on the lower limit, but are quite consistant, i know the engine will be tired at 162k (or may be not), just wondered if these figures are good or not compared to a 'good' engine... Not to bothered if people say its tired, the car aint worth tryin to get the numbers back up...

Anyway its running alot better now, holding a little more boost aswell...

Its showing the engine is a little tired but sealing quite well.

I wouldn't worry mate. Plenty of motors here running big power with more than 200k on them, id like to see their compression results!

Yeah cheers, not worried, it hardly uses any oil, no leaks and dont smoke so im guessing its fairly healthy, I just thought i would see what it was making...

Compression testing results are about as consistant as rolling road results in terms of the figures achieved due to many different variables temperature of engine, accuracy of tester, speed of cranking etc etc.
What your looking for is consistancy across the cylinders and tbh you've got that nailed so I am not surprised to hear the engine is performing well and consuming a very little amount of oil, I'd be happy with those readings as the consistancy suggests you've got healthy engine.
