    T4 ECU tuning/mapping solution!!!!

I have been speaking to a guy who has fitted a Unichip piggyback ECU to his T4 with great success. I was put in contact with a company called Redling Tuning in Essex www.redlinetuning.co.uk. I called them and explained that I wanted to run a custom I/C, Holset turbo, bigger injectors, forged engine etc. He said no problem and he can supply, fit, and tune my car for £550+VAT. The map can be modded at anytime and I think the Unichip can store more than one map to swap at anytime. All the safety features of the standard ECU ie knock sensor are left intact.

My only other options apart from piggyback were:

Full standalone = mega bucks + losing original ECU function ie immobiliser

MTE custom map = long wait + one off tune which cannot be easily changed without Marco.

There are many other piggyback ECU's on the market but I think I'm going to use Unichip as it has been tried and tested on the T4.

Not that I can see for the T4. Not enough for the difference in price anyway. The EMS2000 ecu in the T4 is notoriously hard to map properly so it's good to have an option which doesn't cost more than what the car's worth and still has all the original (and capable) ECU's safety features!! I'll post spec of the Unichip if I can find it.

Does launch control mean you get 'anti lag' ?

No, Launch controle just limits the amount of revs, but anti lag can be dieled in if you'v got plenty of spare turbos

Mitchyboy, that could be just the find I'm looking for... I was going to go down the ViPec route but had the same issues in terms of losing knock sensing, cooling fan etc. Fitted with a custom loom to get round those limitations, I was looking at £2k plus which ws a bit much. If you do go for this in the near future, very interested in your findings!

    All the best

I've been using unichips for years, I'v never had a problem with any of them, I wish I'd stuck to my original plan to use the unichip B on my 850.I still have a spare one so I may end up using it yet.

Hi mate, yes I'm very excited to get the ball rolling with this ASAP.

I have sent redline tuning an email asking for more details as some peeps on T5D5 in the know have asked me clarify a few things that are beyond my knowledge lol. I'll let you know when I get a reply.
