    C70 and a K & N Induction kit.

Excuse me if this is a dumb question! I really like the induction kit on my 97 V70 T5, and would like to put one on my 2000 C70, but would the kit below which is for this car, be OK with the ME7 engine please? I'm keeping it as standard as I can but this is one mod I would like to make.

To be honest Mark, you won't be racing a lot, if at all and youre not planning on other mods, so your best and cheapest option would be to remove the maf from the airbox, ditch the airbox lid and stick a big old cone filter directly on the maf. Like I did with mine. Loads of noise and a bit more respone and all for less than 20 quid

I used to run a cone on my ME7 and it was fine. Debates rage about whether or not the oil in some brands can contaminate the MAF.

The V70 has had the remap etc., and with the insurance issues that created, I decided to keep the C70 standard as far as the engine is concerned. When I put the induction kit on the V70, the MAF sensor packed up after less than a week, but it may have been on it's way out anyway. The replacement has lasted 2 weeks so far.

I remember reading things about the ME7's being trickier with some mods, but I'll keep the old airbox etc. just in case I do have to go back to standard. From what you say above, it's exactly the same as the V70, but I was concerned about whether the MAF sensor would through up issues with the cone filter on the C70.

So these are the ones at around £15, but can you clean them or are they a 'disposable' please? Like the idea of leaving the airbox base in rather than taking the whole thing out and having a pipe strapped to a battery lead.

I just put mine through the dishwasher and when its dry, I spray it with refined coconut oil, leave it upright for an hour and very carefully dab off the excess with tissues

Mine whistles like a jet engine, now I've taken the soundproofing out
Leaving the bottom half of the airbox in resonates the sound nicely and supports the filter and maf perfectly - happy days

Nope, I plug the code reader in every week, just to see if she's hiding anything from me, apart from the odd "clutch position sensor circuit" code, which I haven't seen for a few months now, everything is pukka
