Heater Matrix

The heater matrix went in my V70 classic; I understand that its a known weak point with these cars. I now have a slight 'sicky' coolant smell when I turn the heater on in my P2 and suspect that the matrix has gone on this now.

Has anyone replaced one? Is it a whole dash out job and the usual PITA?

Had mine done a couple of weeks back in my C70 convertible, pretty sure it's same sort of thing. No the dash didn't come out although a local indy did mine for £260 only took 3 or 4 hours to do. Good luck with yours
