    Full Service Price

How does this price sound from a local Volvo specialist for:

    Standard service plus the following:

    Air Filter Change
    Spark plugs change
    Brake Fluid Change
    Coolant change
    Timing & auxiliary belt change
    Fuel filter change

    £440.

My local main stealer wanted £325 for timing belt, £68 for brake fluid change... I could go on. I eventually got the timing belt done at a local indy for £183, the rest of your list I would do myself.
Air filter and fuel filter should be part of the service any hoo.

I don't really want to do it myself as I have limited knowledge/space/time

Does £440 sound OK for a specialist?

It's not too bad. Especially if you don't wanna do the work yourself and if it goes wrong, they gotta fix it! Go for it mate, you probably won't get it much cheaper. Just find out how long the warranty lasts on the timing belt (I'd ask to see the old one when they finish too).

The reason I'm getting the timing belt done is I don't really know if it was done previously. The car has had 6 services and done 53k miles.

53k would be a good time, if it hasn't had it changed before and was thrashed by a previous owner, you could be on borrowed time!

I estimated mine had done 83k from when the plod last changed the belt, 30k before it was decommissioned and the indy that changed it said I was lucky. The old one was cracked/dry and had bits missing!

That's not a bad quote for the work you want done, thats worth while going for. Youll get an invoice for your service history records and if it goes wrong it's not your problem.

Booked this in today. The parts aren't all genuine parts except the spark plugs. All comes with a 1 year warranty.

    Hi Matt.

The cambelt isnt due on that car until the 7 year or 108k service. A timing belt change shouldnt be more than £250. Ive just had mine done. Mine has done 74k. I persoanlly think that 108k is far too long to leave a cambelt, but I am on my 6 year service.

I just had a full service including plugs oils filters engine flush, cam belt and aux belt, front and rear disks, front and rear pads, handbrake shoes, aircon treatment, gearbox oil flush and fluid change and coolant system fluid dropped and changed. Total bill £1216.84 incl vat.

The service was £444.53 + vat. The rest was the gearbox coolant and brakes and belts.

This was at trevor burgess in hyde manchester, a volvo indy.

Hi Matt , sounds ok to me as was asking about this with my local dearler at the last service in Sep. They did a print out for me that showed cam belt change at 10yrs. This could be due to my low milage 23K .

    Pete.
