Turbo failure symptons

Just wondering what are the symptons of Turbocharger failure.

I have no smoke from mine, dont think it burns oil.

But The turbo seems to squeak like a blower motor when on boost!

There is some up and down movement in the shaft also.

She struggles to hold a high boost of 18psi CONSTANT and after apox 15sec of wot, she drops to 15 psi.

going by what you have said about the noise. have you checked the exhaust side of the turbo to see if the area where the waste gate valve sits against for cracks? my 480's turbo has this and the turbo whines like mad and also the boost drops off at high revs.

in fact maybe that's why you cant find a boost leak in any of the hoses there isn't one it might be the internal waste gate that's leaking if the housing is cracked? but the only way to check it is to remove the down pipe and have a look inside.
