Another T5-R or copy or what ??

Hi All. Hoping those of you wot know these thing can enlighten me. I've been looking for a 850T5-R or 850R or v70R (manual estate) for a while now but having read the thread started by merc85 below (10th Sept) about T5-R copies I have been a bit wary.
    Came across this on ebay
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2508951028...fvi%3D1&_rdc=1
which sounded a bit strange. The seller stated they got no paperwork with the car except the MOT cert and so got a new logbook. The car is listed as a '94 T5-R but I thought there were no T5-R made/sold until '95. It was listed as registered in Dec '94 so I thought it may have been one of the very first T5-R to be made, sold & registered. On enquiry the seller assures me it is a T5-R on the logbook but when I checked the reg. no. on www.mycarcheck.com it comes back as "Error - this registration no. is not in the database" !!!!!!!!!!!
Is there some innocent explanation or is this car/plate a fake/copy or worse ???

its got all the right parts, M-reg which is right. Autotrader carchecker list it as a T-5R which is normally what its says on the V5

Comes up fine as a Black 850 T5-R on the autotrader check but does not exist on mycarcheck.com (just tried it again to make sure).

Thanks Merc - saw that in the previous thread u started.
    - but if people are changing wheels, interiors, turbos, even engines & gearboxes, then they could change the fuel filler flap as well

It has the t5-r & motorsport tailgate badges but:-

Don't figure if it comes up kosher on the autotrader database why it doesn't exist on the mycarcheck.com database

Were Volvo actually making & selling the T-5R in '94 - I was pretty sure they didn't start 'til '95
