Yup, as you say, find the bits and plug em in!.

You need the computer, the switch, outside temp sensor and the lead to connect the switch to the computer.

The computer replaces the clock at the bottom of the instruments.

On my C70 (99) I don't have the computer, but when I remove the switch panel the loom is there, so ready to plug the switch into. For the C70 is it just a case of getting the switch, or do I need to get the computer also? The clock already provides a temperature reading of outside so I guess definately do not need external sensor.

I have read quite abit about this and it seems you need a software upgrade on your computer (ecu?).

A few people have simply bought the trip info switch and plugged it in but nothing happens. I have a feeling the software upgrade is about £150 from volvo, not 100% sure though.

Okay, thanks for the info, might look into it further, although seems a little expensive for just confirming that lots of petrol = not many miles :-)

As tomcat says, easy job. Have recently done this on mine. Stripped the parts from a scrap 850 at a breakers - then fitted to my car (job (on mine) took about 1 hr - including removal of dash top.
    Wish I had a Volvo!

My car already has the outside temp sensor being a S70 T5, so maybe all i need is the computer and the switch?

Next time I take my top off - ooer! (Dash Board Top that is) I'll take some pics and post them. Bearing in mind that I have an 854, I'm not sure how relevant it will be for the C/S/V Series. Happy to help tho....
    Wish I had a Volvo!
