    Conrods T4/T5

    Hi guys,

I was just looking on the THS website and the rods for the early T5's and T4's are exactly the same spec/measurements. I have a set coming for my T5 build but am swaying towards maybe going the T4 route. I have just bought a T4 for 400pounds as a run around/stop gap car, but I love it, so will prob keep it now!!!

    Thanks,

I have just read an early 1855cc T4 lump is exactly 80% of the 2319cc of the T5. So I take it the rods are the same?

I know that they both have the same size cylinders (volume) at something like 463cc, but couldn't say if they have the same rods.

THS is a good place, i'd expect them to know there stuff.

Al115 has a fully forged top spec T4 engine for sale for £900, the build cost him over 3K, if your going down the T4 route i would snap his arm of mate.

Well it looks that way! lol. Nowhere near as much info on tuning them as the T5's though, although there seems to be just as as many BIG power T4's as T5's.

Al's forged engine is good for 400bhp, i was thinking about it last year, but as i can only drive an auto it wouldn't be worth it as the box wouldn't be able to take anywhere near that much.

I would love that engine. Funds just won't allow it this month. No doubt it will snapped up by then.

I'm going to do just that. Keep a set for the T4, one rod for the mantelpiece. 1 set still available.

    Thanks, Mitch.
