    Talking idle air control valve???

hi guys wonder if any one has come across this, just lately in a morning when i start the car the revs shoot up to about 1500 2 2000rpms for about 7/10 seconds rather than the usual second thinking it could be the idle air control valve sticking slightly and requiring a clean? anybody else had this??
    cheers mick

    hi there mick....

I had exactly this with my r too.....
it turned out to be a air leak from the intake manifold...
after sorting this i did all my vac pipes with braided hose and this sorted it out...

the hose was only about a tenner if that with enough to do it all with some spare...
i didnt bother with the silsicone ones because differant people suggested that they was not as good as the braided version...

To this day I hold constant strong boost....hope this helps....

Also to eliminate the valve try cleaning it.....

it will only take an hour at most .... ( heres a a link to how

i know exacly what you mean it is embarrassing , to stop mine doing this i unplugged the idle control valve totally and ran it like that for two years with no problems apart from cold starts having to wait for engine to warm up
