    Question South coast meet/Bournemouth airshow

In a few weeks, Bournemouth airshow is on: http://www.bournemouthair.co.uk/whats-on/
Seeing that there are a few plane enthusiasts on the forum, (yes the vulcan will be there) I thought it would be a good excuse to have a meet.
I can get reserved parking for up to 20 cars, about half a mile from the centre of the show. Parking is £1.50 per hour (rip off I know but we're talking sandbanks here) but depending on numbers, and weather or not I can pull some strings, I may be able to sort parking for the day(PM me for more info). The carpark is called Branksome Dene Chine - right on the beach and is the point where the fly-by's turn to go back the other way. You can also walk up the promenade and get a closer look at the action but it gets bloody busy the closer you get. Depending on the amount of interest, I will post more info as and when I can.

    So peeps, anybody interested????

18th to 21st August...sadly I can't do this...I think it sounds a great idea. I am at Airbourne in Eastbourne next week which is a similar event - think that will be my airshow allowance for 2011. Trying to decide whether to go in the Honda or the R at the moment.

I would have liked to go to this, but it's too short notice, and I will be travelling to the Isle of Wight that weekend.

Such a shame (I love seeing the Vulcan), perhaps next year?

    Sorry Martin can't make it.

Mrs PA is off to the Isle of Wight to pick up our daughter and I'm staying at home. Shame really as both of us would have loved it. I have a feeling Mrs PA is going to reply to this as well.

    She beat me to it

To be honest, I'd rather do the pod but the missus won't let me..
a: drive that far away with the family car,
    b:use that much petrol,
    c:destroy the gearbox.
    d:all of the above

Just tell her you are going to watch . To be honest apart from wayward Honda's - it is very safe & not that hard on your car. It is only 15 seconds flat out when all said & done.

15 seconds if I'm lucky, gearbox needs more flushing, and don't know if it's engine mounts or wishbone bushes but there's some slack in there somewhere.

I heard about these dodgy hondas but with a huge swedish lump doing 90mph and a 17 stone psychotic southerner at the wheel, the little jap thingys won't cause too much distress.

    Maybe one day... ho-hum.

Careful, I may take you up on that one day. Besides, that lovely silver 70 is far too pretty to be spoilt by this leadfoot loony.
Perhaps next year I'll strip some excess weight off the old girl and have a go.

Ok guys, the airshow is this weekend, if anybody's plans have fallen through and they want to see the airshow on saturday or sunday, and they want reserved (and possibly free) parking, let me know before friday so I can make arrangements. would be nice to put some names to faces while taking - in the festivities!

Mrs PA is in the I of W picking up number one daughter. I'm at home not able to drive yet. So I'll be watching films and videos. And if it's dry I might do some work in the garden got a new weed slasher, strimmer, hedge trimmer, small chainsaw
