South West Meet - Templecombe September 25th 10:30

As I'm not going to be at Avon Park/Shakspere, other commitments as you know. I wonder if anyone from around the South West wants to meet up down this way one Saturday or Sunday ?

I did look at the track at Haynes Motor Museum but they wouldn't allow drifting or timed runs, so that sort of put a damper on that idea.

So if anyone just wants to meet up for a get together for a chat and a pint of something then let us know.

I'd be interested obviously depending on dates (Sunday's usually better). Haynes track used to be quite pricey when I used to do mini events but a good chuckle

I don't mind Sundays well Mrs PA says she's OK with Sundays I have no choice in the matter at the moment

Has far as tax increases, how about one that is being dumped on us without a lot being said. The Royal Mail are going to charge VAT on every parcel over a kilo from next month on. Up to now it's been VAT free

Yeah, and half the time, they don't deliver the thing, just stick a card thru your door saying you gotta pick it up tomorrow, and they close at 2pm - 2pm? don't they realize some of us have propper jobs!

Back to the topic (not the rather nice chocolate bar) any suggestions for a location guys? -Sandbanks is rather nice, but then I do live nearby and have a beach parking permit!

I was thinking about some where that's easy to get to for all of us and not Weston.

Mrs PA has just suggested Nempnett Thrubwell but there's no pubs there.

Without looking in to the technicalities of this no trackday is allowed to permit timed runs and it would be classed as a motorsport event which requires a different insurance and licence, then I think each drive needs ARDS??

Some tracks don't like drifting as it upsets everyone else on the track, so they are mindful of the fact that a drifting cars has limited control if anything goes wrong..
