    Volvo is going to Valhalla

Sorry boys and girls but i am leaving the Volvo nest for a while at least.

My 850 has once again screwed its box up and i cant afford to keep fuelling it either as my family will be growing soon also.

As such i have bought a taxi (might as well be) A Turbo Diesel 406

Although this is scandalous i wil pop back in to see if any of my limited knowledge is of use to anyone.

Shame really as the Volvo has been the best car i have ever owned.

It still worries me how i am going to take the drop from 235bhp to 110!!!!

If you see me on the roads treat me nicely. And no i wont be up for a race at the lights....

    Awwwh!! God Damn it!

I am really sorry to hear that mate. I assume you have taken off the wheels and any of the useful bits? Is it going to that great Volvo car park in the sky?

Be assured in the knowledge that if you ever want a blast in a T5 you know where to come.

Vince, I hope this doesnt mean you will be no longer posting - coz your knowledge and experience has been much appreciated in the past.

If it makes you feel better my Gfs Bro had a 406 TD and it was much better and quicker than the 2.0 petrol he now owns.

The Td or HDI was is company car he had for 3 years when he bought it.

Unfortunatly a deer ran out in front of him causing a lot of damage then a month or so later when fixed he got caught in some bad wind the car was blown off the road and written off.

Hope you come back to volvo someday.

    Thanks guys,

I will keep posting and i am a half decent source for parts etc, so if you are struggling to find anything give me a shout.

Dave i left the wheels on, cos i would have had to spend money getting a set to trade it in on which i didnt have the money to do. Also i had the 302mm discs, so only v70T5 alloys would do......i was also trying to limit my mileage as the gearbox was singing somewhat

TDS if there are any northern meets keep me posted and i'll come along.

Not to make anyone envious but ive just done 90 miles on about £8 of diesel
it also happily cruises along at 100mph yeah i know that was a self gratification comment, but i also wanted to use the new snail smiley.

The peugeot is a money saving device, i am too much of a big power boy to drive a small engined car forever, sayng that though the peugeot is a 2.1TD

If you can be arsed, check out the parts prices for 406's on Euro Car Parts. you can do a full resto to concourse on about £100......lol

Anyway, i can feel some toast and a brew coming on......so will check out for now.

Thanks for your kind words.....and ignore what Dave says i think your a pretty good bunch. (joke)
